After someone alerted officials that Hamilton was at the Summit North Marina in Delaware, a number of police officers—including state troopers, Cecil County deputies and U.S. Marshals—responded at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The tipster had seen Hamilton’s photo in the newspaper and recognized him, then called police, according to The News Journal. Hamilton had been on the lam since the Sept. 24 homicide that reportedly occurred in his driveway.

David Joel Robles Serrano, 31, of Wilmington, DE, was shot dead in the unit block of Swallow Lane in Elkton on Wednesday, Sept. 24, the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office reported. A second victim reportedly suffered a nonfatal gunshot wound and was taken by helicopter to Christiana Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The shootings were believed to be drug-related, according to the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office; the suspects anticipated finding drugs and a large sum of money on the victims, police said. Due to the ongoing investigation, officials declined to reveal whether these were found.
In connection with Serrano’s death, Hamilton’s son—Hank William Hamilton, 23, of the 1100 block of Royston Place in Bel Air—was charged Saturday with first-degree murder and other offenses. According to court records obtained by the Cecil Whig, the Bel Air man admitted that he gave his father the guns used in the murder and left the scene with him, renting a hotel room for his dad and buying him a cell phone.
Police had previously searched the Delaware marina looking for his father, where Henry Eric Hamilton was known to frequent, but they did not find him, The News Journal reported.
Once discovered on Tuesday, he waived extradition and was returned to Maryland, where he was being held in the Cecil County Detention Center on no bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
Henry Eric Hamilton’s girlfriend was charged as an accessory for allegedly hiding weapons, according to the Cecil Whig.
