City Shines Red In Tribute To Firefighter Nathan Flynn
Downtown Havre de Grace shines red for the firefighter who died Monday in the line of duty.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The city of Havre de Grace will illuminate its downtown red for one week, the mayor announced Monday. Mayor William T. Martin said the symbolic gesture would come as the city mourns the loss of a beloved firefighter.
Nathan Flynn, 34, died in the line of duty Monday as he battled a seven-alarm fire in Clarksville while working as a firefighter in Howard County. He and his family lived in Havre de Grace.
“The city was overcome with grief this morning as we learned of the passing of one of our own, Nathan Flynn," said Martin in a statement. "Nathan, a son of Havre de Grace, was part of the revered legacy of the Susquehanna Hose Company and an honored member of our community. I ask everyone to keep Nathan and his family in your prayers as our city, and the entire state, mourns his passing.”
