Coffee Leads To Assault Charge: HdG Police

Havre de Grace police said a man threw coffee on a police officer and ended up with an asssault charge.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A Perryville man was charged with assault recently after police accused him of throwing coffee on an officer. The incident began with a call about a disorderly person.

A 30-year-old man was refusing to leave a residence in the 400 block of Webb Lane. Police said his relative lived there, and he was refusing to leave around 9:30 a.m. on March 3, when officials were dispatched there.

Once police escorted the man outside, they said he threw a large cup of coffee on an officer. He was charged with assaulting a police officer and was taken to the Harford County Detention Center.

Court records show the man, who lives in the unit block of Brookside Drive in Perryville, was released on his own recognizance. He has a court appearance set for May 3 in Harford County District Court.
