The second resolution concerns a new traffic pattern in the 80 block of Erie Street. West-bound traffic has been cut off at Juniata Street during construction on the Hatem Bridge. Often used as a shortcut for travelers trying to access Route 40 to take the bridge to Cecil County, Erie Street may be permanently closed at Juniata Street.
An ordinance will be introduced by Council President Bill Martin concerning "setting fines and penalties for parking violations." Martin had proposed this spring the City increase its fines for parking violations downtown in order to enable the Maryland Motor Vehicles Admninistration to place a flag on the registration of those drivers who have unpaid fines.
