LETTER TO EDITOR

Recently, a 20-year servant and elected official, Sen. Nancy Jacobs, was named Legislator of the Year. I offer my congratulations to you, Senator Jacobs, for receiving this prestigious and well-deserved award.

Since you have been elected, you have fought for lower taxes for families and have been consistently pro-life – an issue of great importance to myself. Thank you for fighting for and passing Jessica’s Law, which provides mandatory sentencing for sex offenders. This law, which is a significant deterrent to this type of behavior, serves to protect our children.

Despite the challenging and hurtful nature of politics, Senator Jacobs has actively paved the way for conservatives such as myself. During her last campaign, Senator Jacobs was attacked; these attacks were inappropriate and unjustified. I can relate to the hurtful nature of these attacks. Many legislators disappear after the 90-day session, but not Senator Jacobs. She has been working with me to fight against toll increases and the Dream Act benefits for illegal immigrants. There is no limit to her dedication. She works 24-7, and when she does take a vacation, she works on the computer every day and has her wonderful and competent staff working at full speed.

Congratulations again, Senator Jacobs. I look forward to working with you in the future to help the hard-working people of Harford and Cecil counties. I hope that everyone has a great summer.
