Would-Be Burglar Stopped by Mattress: HdG Crime
Extension cords stolen, theft from boat slip box and other incidents report to Havre de Grace Police.

The Havre de Grace Police Department provided this information.
Tools, extension cords and electrical boxes were taken from a construction site in the 100 block of South Washington Street. The suspect(s) got into the home through an unsecured window and stole $350 worth of items. The burglary occurred between 5:30 p.m. on May 1 and 7 a.m. on May 4.
A domestic incident was reported in the 1300 block of Currier Street at 2:51 p.m. on May 3.

An envelope containing a $5 fee was removed from the boat ramp in the 600 block of Water Street. A suspicious woman was seen sitting next to the collection box, and police were contacted. When she saw the witness who called police, the woman left. Police canvassed the area and could not find her. The theft was reported at 8:55 a.m. on May 3.
A door was kicked in early Sunday morning in the 600 block of Green Street. The resident said he heard banging and put his mattress against the door and called police. When officers arrived, they found the door had been kicked in. The attempted burglary occurred at 3:19 a.m. on May 3. Damage to the door was $100.

A 22-year-old Essex man was charged with assault in relation to a domestic assault involving his girlfriend in the 500 block of Revolution Street. The arrest occurred at 6:06 p.m. on May 2.
A shed door was kicked in and a 50-foot orange extension cord was stolen from a shed in the 100 block of Wilson Street. The burglary occurred between 5:30 and 9:35 p.m. on May 1.
Vandalism to a vehicle was reported in the 200 block of Superior Street at 1:02 p.m. on May 1.
