Havre de Grace Ice Festival To Feature 40-Plus Sculptures

An outdoor hot toddy garden, Ice Princess parade and more will be part of the Havre de Grace Ice Festival this year.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Havre de Grace Ice Festival, sponsored by Visit Harford, is set for March 13 and 14.

More than 40 ice sculptures will be on display downtown.

A chili cook-off, outdoor hot toddy garden, ice carving demonstrations, magic shows, character meet and greets, mini unicorn, Ice Princess parade and corn hole boards made of ice will be part of the festivities.

The theme for 2021 is "Fairy Tales & Fantasy," according to organizers, who said, "from dragons to cartoon characters — from nursery rhymes to imaginary worlds - from superheroes to Disney to Harry Potter and so much more, it can all be found in downtown Havre de Grace."

Attendees will also be able to vote for their favorite ice sculptures.

The past two years, the festival has been held in January, sprinkling downtown with ice carvings and fire pits.

Due to the coronavirus, safety protocols will be in place, including wearing face masks.

The Havre de Grace Ice Festival will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 13, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 14. See a full list of events.
