Havre de Grace Library Now on Market Street

The Harford County Public Library branch has moved during a construction project.

While construction gets underway at the old Havre de Grace Library on Union Avenue, the branch has moved to a temporary location.

Citizens can find the library at 203 Market Street, in the building that houses BB&T Bank.

The branch opened Oct. 14 after moving from Union Avenue for a construction project that will last more than a year. The library is being rebuilt to accommodate the growing number of citizens who use it.

Plans call for the library to expand from one to two stories and grow from 8,400 to 15,000 square feet.

To allow for the new construction, the old library will be demolished, followed by a Nov. 12 groundbreaking, The Aegis reported.

The library’s temporary space on Market Street is reportedly half the size of the old library. Regular programming has resumed, according to the library, which has seen a steady stream of visitors since its reopening last week. See the schedule here.
