Havre de Grace Makes 'Great Small Towns' List
The city on the Chesapeake is one of the top getaways near D.C., according to Washingtonian magazine.

In a newly released list, Washingtonian magazine has named Havre de Grace among the “Great Small Towns Near D.C.”
The magazine mentioned the city’s appearance in the hit Netflix series House of Cards, noting spots like EZ Tobacco Shop, where the show’s protagonist Frank Underwood sets up his campaign headquarters.
In the print version of the magazine, readers are invited to “See Frank Underwood’s ‘hometown,” since Havre de Grace was dressed up to look like Gaffney, S.C., in the show in scenes around the Havre de Grace Opera House.

And it gives a nod to the city’s annual tradition of ringing in the new year with a duck drop.
