Havre de Grace Man Charged In Murder Of His Mother
BREAKING: Police said a Havre de Grace man was charged with first-degree murder. His mother was the victim.

BALTIMORE, MD – A Havre de Grace resident has been charged with first-degree murder. The victim was his mother.
Michael Singleton, 36, of the 500 block of Majestic Prince Circle, is being held without bail in Baltimore.
Singleton was arrested Tuesday in connection with the murder of Janie McCray, 57, who died on Halloween 2017, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

McCray had been shot in the back and had other visible signs of trauma when she was found near Gwynn Oak in northwest Baltimore at 2:32 p.m. on Oct. 31, 2017, police said.
Officers discovered McCray when they were called to the 5400 block of California Boulevard for a report of an unresponsive person.

Police said McCray, who lived in the 4700 block of Greenspring Avenue, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The location was about 4 miles from where she lived.
Her obituary said that she was survived by her son Michael and daughter-in-law Suzy Singleton, as well as two grandchildren, her father, two brothers, three sisters and other relatives.
Warrant apprehension detectives took Singleton into custody on Tuesday.
Singleton was charged with six offenses:
- First-degree murder
- Second-degree murder
- First-degree assault
- Using a firearm in a felony crime
- Manslaughter
- False statement to an officer
Singleton is slated to appear for a preliminary hearing in Baltimore City District Court on July 18.
