Havre de Grace to Welcome Home 165 Soldiers Saturday

The Maryland Army National Guard's 1729th Field Support Maintenance Co. returns Saturday morning.

The holiday season will be a lot nicer for more than 165 families this year.

The Maryland Army National Guard's 1729th Field Support Maintenance Company returns Saturday morning after about 10 months in Iraq. According to a release from the National Guard, the troops are expected to return between 9:30 and 10 a.m. Saturday, depending upon traffic.

A welcome home party for families will be held at the Havre de Grace Military Reservation at 301 Old Bay Lane.

The Susquehanna Hose Company will have two trucks along Old Bay Lane with an American Flag displayed to welcome home the troops. Yellow ribbons will be placed in front of two of the firehouses on the route the troops are expected to take.

The anticipated route is MD Route 155 to Juniata Street to Revolution Street to Old Bay Lane.

The hose company and urge residents to line the streets with flags to welcome home the buses.
