The device belonged to a young man in Havre de Grace with cerebral palsy.
The Havre de Grace Police Department is asking the public for help locating a wheelchair reported missing from a neighborhood last week.
Police said they were called to Bay View Estates at 3 p.m. on April 3 when a Convaid Safari Tilt wheelchair disappeared.
The chair belonged to Matthew, a young man with cerebral palsy who uses the apparatus when he is not walking with supports, police said.

His parents purchased the wheelchair, which cost $4,000, after extensive negotiations with health insurance providers, according to police.
On Wednesday, April 3, Matthew's wheelchair was placed outside a residence in Bay View Estates at approximately 10:30 a.m. for an exchange between his parents, police said. At 2:45 p.m., when it was to be picked up, the wheelchair was gone, according to police.

"There is no information or evidence that would suggest that a person intentionally took the wheelchair with the intent to deprive the owner," PFC Jeff Gilpin, spokesman for the Havre de Grace Police Department, said.
"Officers are considering the possibility that a passerby may have mistaken the wheelchair for an item being discarded," Gilpin continued.
