HdG Receives $92,000 for Concord Point Park Project
The grant will go toward extending the Promenade.
The city of Havre de Grace was awarded $92,000 for improvements to Concord Point Park, Mayor Wayne Dougherty announced this week.
The Maryland Heritage Areas Authority in cooperation with the Lower Susquehanna Heritage Greenway granted the funds for work on the area next to the Concord Point Lighthouse.
The property, which the city bought in 2013 after voters approved the purchase, will extend the walkways, lighting and seating that are present on the existing Promenade. An observation deck will also be added, city officials said.
The $92,000 grant announced this week was on top of a $35,000 grant from the state and the Lower Susquehanna Heritage Greenway toward engineering.
