HdG Sends 'Thoughts And Prayers' After Perryman Shootings

The city of Havre de Grace issued a statement after the shootings in Perryman, including a note of gratitude to first responders.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The city of Havre de Grace thanked first responders for their speed and professionalism Thursday in handling the shooting at the Rite Aid distribution center in Perryman. Havre de Grace was among the agencies that assisted the Harford County Sheriff's Office after a worker opened fire, shooting four people fatally and injuring three others, at the facility off Perryman Road.

The warehouse in Perryman is located less than 10 miles from Havre de Grace, off the Route 40 corridor. It was the second workplace shooting in Harford County in the past year.

"Today, Americans have witnessed yet another senseless act of violence," the city of Havre de Grace said Thursday in a statement. "The city of Havre de Grace wholeheartedly sends its collective thoughts and prayers to the victims and to their families. We are also very grateful for the quickness and professionalism of our first responders."

Two victims died at the scene and one died at the hospital, according to Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler. The shooter was also pronounced deceased at the hospital, he said. Three people who were shot and injured were expected to survive, according to Gahler.

The Havre de Grace Police Department and Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps were involved in the response.

In addition, the Level Volunteer Fire Company opened its firehouse as a reunification center for the afternoon.

The shooter was a Baltimore County woman who fatally shot herself, authorities said. Snochia Moseley, 26, died at the hospital from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. She was a temporary employee of the Rite Aid distribution facility who was reporting for her normal work day when around 9 a.m. she began shooting. A motive had not been determined as of Thursday.
