HdG Woman Busted for Heroin Possession: Cecil Sheriff
The Cecil County Sheriff's Office reports it found drugs during traffic stop.

A Havre de Grace woman was charged with possession of heroin recently in North East as the result of a traffic stop, according to the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies found the drugs after stopping a 1995 Ford Mustang that nearly crashed into a motorcycle on Route 272, the sheriff’s office reported.
The Mustang’s driver failed to yield while making a left-hand turn onto Route 272 from Lums Road at approximately 5 p.m. on Jan. 14, according to the report.

During a search of the woman, police found six bags of suspected heroin, a hypodermic needle and two yellow pills identified as clonazepam, according to the report.
She was charged with two counts of possession of drugs other than marijuana and possession of drug-administering equipment and is scheduled to appear in Cecil County District Court on March 6.
The arrest comes as Harford County leaders are strategizing to address the area’s heroin issue.
“Harford County is number four in heroin overdoses in the state. It’s a growing problem,” Harford County Executive Barry Glassman told Comcast Newsmakers in a recent interview. He noted: ”Cecil County is struggling just as we are.”
Glassman said he was going to put together a task force with the sheriff and state’s attorney to combat what he called a “heroin epidemic” in Harford County.
“We have families that are beginning to unravel because of the addictive nature of heroin,” Glassman said. “We’ve got a whole generation at risk.”
