HdG Wraps First Ever Jazz & Blues Fest
The inaugural Havre de Grace Jazz & Blues Fest rocked out in the city over the weekend.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The weekend-long Havre de Grace Jazz & Blues Fest delivered three days of music to the city. The event kicked off with First Friday, where jazz bands played amid the downtown street festival, and it incorporated performances in the Havre de Grace High School auditorium, in the Cultural Center at the Opera House and outside at Hutchins Memorial Park. One musician even delivered an impromptu performance inside Bahoukas Antiques on Union Avenue
"You could feel the energy all the way across the street," organizers said after the Cab Calloway Orchestra closed out the festival Sunday in the opera house.
This was the first ever Havre de Grace Jazz & Blues Fest.

Organizers anticipated 3,000 to 4,000 people would attend First Friday, which coincided with the first day of the festival, co-chair Suzanne Chadwick told WMAR. She said it took more than a year to plan the three-day Havre de Grace Jazz & Blues Fest.
