Laurrapin Owners Sell Restaurant

The founders of Laurrapin Grille plan to continue with catering business, and the new owners are well-known to diners.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The founders of Laurrapin Grille sat back and watched as their successors put the finishing touches on the sale Wednesday before the Harford County liquor board. The restaurant, which has been celebrated by the city and state for its locally sourced fare, will continue on under new owners who are not new to Laurrapin.

Executive chef Kristina Sciarra, who was recently featured on the Food Network show "Chopped," owns 45 percent of the business and is president; Janice Rogers, who has worked at Laurrapin for five years, will serve as vice president and also own 45 percent; and sous chef Chris Stever will own 10 percent and be the resident licensee, since he lives in Harford County.

Founders Bruce and Sherifa Clarke were celebratory Wednesday after the liquor license was transferred. They observed proudly as Sciarra, Rogers and Stever informed the liquor board that all employees were trained and certified in alcohol awareness, with the exception of two who were enrolled in an upcoming class.
