“Through a juxtaposition of textile patterns, my body of art entitled ’Sociology of Women’ examines the roles and attributes of women in society.,” Comoglio-Santos said. “Each piece was created using intricate color schemes and shapes inspired from textiles around the world. These patterns embrace and represent the many aspects of a woman.”
Liz Arango-Howshall is a contemporary impressionistic painter who owns The Art Rooms Professional Art Supplies in Havre de Grace, where she provides lessons for adults and children. Her work is a blend of impressionism and realism.

“My experimentation with medium and supports is evident in my Gyotaku work,” Arango-Howshall said. “I have a consuming passion for the Japanese art of making fish prints on delicate rice papers. It enables me to work directly with nature. India inks and watercolor washes are the primary medium I use for this technique.”
A reception with the artists will be open to the public on Sunday, Aug, 10, from 1 to 4 p.m.
