Mayor Says '11 Storms Cost Havre de Grace
Wayne Dougherty delivered the second quarter financial data on Monday and said the city had to pay more than expected on storm readiness, evacuation, clean-up and repair.
The flooding and storm damage from Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee left digging into its pockets for the second quarter of fiscal year 2012.
While the city's revenues grew over the previous year's second quarter, so too did expenditures. However, the expenditures fell in line with budget projections, despite having to spend $110,000 more than expected on storm readiness, evacuation, clean-up and repair.
