Mechanical Issue Solved, Water Service Restored

City residents may have had little to no water pressure for about 45 minutes.

UPDATED (10:15 a.m.)——Havre de Grace residents may have had little to no water pressure for about 45 minutes Monday morning, due to a mechanical issue at the city's .

The issue was resolved by 10:13 a.m., when a follow-up phone recording was sent to residents.

Residents with cloudy water were urged to run cold water through their faucets until it became clear.

The following is the initial message—notifying residents of the issue—sent from the Department of Public Works via telephone around 9:25 Monday morning:

"Due to a mechanical issue at the water treatment plant, you may be experiencing low or no water pressure, and possibly cloudy water at this time. The water plant personnel are actively working to correct the problem. When the pressure returns, you may experience cloudy water. The water is safe to drink, but you should run your faucets with cold water only until it runs clear. Again, we are experiencing a mechanical problem at the water treatment plant. Crews are working to correct this problem. When the water pressure returns, run your faucets with cold water until it runs clear. Thank you."
