Susquehanna State Park Murder: Cause Of Death Released

An Aberdeen man has been charged with murder after his girlfriend's body was found in a parking lot near Havre de Grace, officials say.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A Harford County man was charged with murder after a woman's body was found in a parking lot in Susquehanna State Park on Thursday, authorities said. The medical examiner determined the cause of death was asphyxiation and the manner of death was homicide, officials reported.

Brandon Allen Wovas, 25, of the 500 block of Aldino Stepney Road in Aberdeen, has been charged with first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault and altering evidence, according to court records.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office said that detectives identified Wovas as the suspect in the death of his girlfriend.

Lauren Michelle Walls, 34, of Street, was found deceased in the 700 block of Stafford Road, officials said. Officers located her body at 7:42 a.m. Thursday upon responding to a report of an unconscious person in the parking lot at the park and found her deceased.

Officials allege Wovas killed Walls sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning in the 700 block of Stafford Road, then left her there.

Wovas was charged and is being held at the Harford County Detention Center without bail.
