Havre de Grace is gaining and the planners for the property are doing what they can to assimilate the building into downtown culture.
The convenience store will not have gas. The current building is being retrofitted and will feature red brick and wood shingles with very little glass. The signage in front of the building will stand less than 8 feet high.
The store will utilize one of the two lots at the location, with a parking lot spanning the front of Union Avenue.

The sign will require City Council approval, as it will stand in the city right of way. It has been recommended for approval by the planning commisison. According to city officials, the sign likely will be introduced for approval at the Dec. 5 City Council meeting.
The building does not require council approval, as it fits in the current zoning code.
