Road Work to Close Lanes on Tydings Bridge
The Maryland Transportation Authority said closures will continue through May 2012 on I-95.

Motorists will find lane closures on Interstate 95 crossing the Tydings Bridge for the next seven months as the Maryland Transportation Authority installs new joints on the southbound side of the bridge.
The $5.8 million project to repair the 49-year-old bridge is funded by toll revenue, and will also include a new drainage system on the northbound side, according to a statement from the MdTA.
Closures on I-95 southbound will take place as follows, except on the days before, of and after major holidays.

A similar project to replace joints on the northbound side took place in 2007. The southbound project was delayed to allow for the completion of the Hatem Bridge Preservation Project, according to the MdTA.
Toll increases were recently approved for the Tydings and Hatem bridges as part of a statewide toll increase. Cash payments for using the bridges of the Susquehanna River increased from $5 to $6.
