Softball: Warriors Walk-Off to Semifinal Game in Baltimore County

Havre de Grace advances with comeback win, will visit Loch Raven Wednesday.

UPDATE (9:15 a.m.)——The Warriors will visit Loch Raven Wednesday at 4 p.m. after a thrilling win Monday afternoon.

Megan Thompson's run-scoring single with two out in the seventh gave Havre de Grace a thrilling win and sent the Warriors marching forward in the Class 1A North region tournament.

Thompson went 3-for-4 with two runs and the game-winning RBI for the Warriors in a 7-6 win against Harford Tech. Thompson also came on in relief for 2.2 innings of shutout work, scattering three hits for the win.

Riley Arnold was 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Warriors. Hayley Ktts got the start, going 4.1 innings. She allowed four hits and three walks, and was hurt by five errors by the Havre de Grace defense. Only two of the six Harford Tech runs were earned.

Havre de Grace got out to a three-run lead in the bottom of the first, and tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the third. Tech scored once in the fourth and five times in the fifth before Havre de Grace tied it in the bottom of the sixth and won it in the seventh.

In Monday's other region quarterfinal, No. 2 Loch Raven defeated No. 7 Sparrows Point, 10-1. Sparrows Point beat Joppatowne, 19-2, in the opening round, while Loch Raven had a bye.
