Thieves Swipe Wallets in Havre de Grace: Police
Havre de Grace police advise people to keep an eye on their wallets, purses.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Havre de Grace Police Department provided the following information about recent crimes, including four wallets stolen in four days.
While cleaning a room in the 600 block of Congress Avenue, an unknown woman allegedly stole a purple Vera Bradley wallet from a purse. There was approximately $170 in the wallet, which was reported stolen before 6 p.m. on Sept. 24.
A woman's wallet was taken in the 600 block of Adams Street, reported after 5 p.m. on Sept. 23.

A purse and wallet were reported stolen in the 600 block of Lewis Street. The theft was reported at 3:35 a.m. on Sept. 23.
A woman's wallet containing various credit cards and $70 was stolen from the 400 block of Franklin Street, reported at 6:41 p.m. on Sept. 20.

The thefts do not appear to be connected, according to Julie Morgan, spokeswoman for the Havre de Grace Police Department.
"We have no reason to believe that they are related at this time," Morgan said Tuesday. She described the string of wallet thefts more of a "crime of opportunity" than anything else.
"Most of the thefts were wallets being taken from unattended purses," Morgan said. "As always, we caution the public to be mindful of their surroundings, and to keep pocketbooks and wallets in a secure place.
Other Incidents: 3 People Arrested
A 20-year-old Port Deposit man was charged with theft of a red 2008 Honda motorcycle, a stolen vehicle that authorities found him riding while they were investigating a domestic call. The motorcycle rider was arrested at 11:42 a.m. on Sept. 21 in the 300 block of North Union Avenue and taken to the Harford County Detention Center.
A 38-year-old man from the 800 block of Earlton Road was arrested on a warrant for drug possession and distribution. He was taken into custody in the 1800 block of Pulaski Highway and transported to the Harford County Detention Center at 8:05 p.m. on Sept. 20.
A 51-year-old woman from the 600 block of Bourbon Street was charged with disorderly conduct and failure to obey at 11:17 a.m. on Sept. 20. She was arrested in the 1100 Revolution Street, where she had also been taken into custody three days prior.
