Trick Or Treat Announced For Halloween 2017 In HdG

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The official trick-or-treat hours have been set in Havre de Grace. The Halloween festivities will take place during a period of two hours on Tuesday.

Trick-or-treat will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31, in the city of Havre de Grace. Police officers will be on patrol in residential areas, according to city officials.

Here are some safety tips from the Havre de Grace Police Department:

• Trick-or-treat in a group. Plan the route ahead of time in areas that you/your child know.
• Only visit well-lit houses. Hold a flashlight too so you are visible to drivers.
• Look both ways before crossing the street, and use crosswalks when available. If there are no sidewalks, walk facing traffic.
• Wear masks that fit and do not block vision. Check to ensure costumes are flame-resistant.
• Throw away candy that is not in its original wrapper or looks as though it has been opened. Avoid homemade items.

• City of Aberdeen: 5-8 p.m.
• City of Havre de Grace: 6-8 p.m.
• Town of Bel Air: 5-8 p.m.
