Offshore Rescue: First Responders Pick Up Patient From Sand Island
The Susquehanna Hose Company responded to a call for help Saturday night off the shores of Havre de Grace.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD - Emergency officials rescued an individual from an island near Havre de Grace Saturday night.
A man was reportedly unconscious in the area of Sand Island on the Chesapeake Bay, the Susquehanna Hose Company reported after 10:15 p.m.
Medics were on standby at Tydings Park, while the hose company's fire boat responded to the incident.

The person had been brought aboard the fire boat and was headed for the park as of 10:41 p.m., according to officials.
Emergency personnel were also dispatched to Sand Island last month, when a pair of jet skis sank in early August.
