The Havre de Grace High School marching band played at New Jersey destination around the festivities for the 2016 Miss America pageant.
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — The Warrior Pride Marching Band lit up the boardwalk in Atlantic City over the weekend. The Warriors marched a 2-mile route ahead of Miss Maryland.
"We are happy to report the parade was a tremendous success. The band’s performance was very well received by the enthusiastic audience along the boardwalk," Havre de Grace Band Director Richard Hauf said.
"We heard many great comments along the way. We had the privilege of leading Miss Maryland, Hannah Brewer, in the parade. The 2 mile parade took over 90 minutes to complete. I am amazed with the quality of performance the students maintained throughout the parade.

The "Show Us Your Shoes" parade takes place the day before the Miss America Pageant.
The event reportedly got its name because those competing for the crown would hear cries from the crowd during the parade — "Show us your shoes!" as they went by. The people have gotten what they wanted; now the annual affair features the 52 contestants for the 2017 Miss America Pageant, each with her own shoe design that represents her state.
