Weather Service Issues Winter Storm Warning for Havre de Grace

Havre de Grace is under a winter storm warning from Saturday to Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service; the warning replaces the previous winter weather advisory, which has now expired.
The warning is in effect from 9 a.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday and calls for 3 to 6 inches of snow followed by sleet and freezing rain.
Ice accumulation may range from a trace to a few hundredths of an inch.

- Morning—Snow is expected to start between 10 a.m. and noon Saturday.
- Afternoon—The heaviest snowfall is anticipated Saturday afternoon.
- Late afternoon—By nightfall, snow will change to sleet and freezing rain, according to the warning.
- Night—Precipitation will change to all freezing rain as the evening continues, the warning states.
Highs will be in the upper 20s Saturday, climbing to the 30s overnight, according to the weather service. Winds will be 10 to 20 mph, the weather service reports.

Air quality on Saturday is “code orange,” meaning pollution levels in the Baltimore-Washington area are such that children, those with heart and respiratory conditions and older adults should limit their outdoor activities, according to Clean Air Partners.
