Weekend Traffic May Be Hairy in Greater Havre de Grace

Darlington Apple Festival + Memorial Run + Cabin Fever = congestion.

Heading out in the Darlington area on Saturday? Be prepared for some traffic.

Harford County authorities advised citizens that multiple events are happening in Darlington that could cause lots of volume. In a message to citizens Friday night, Harford County government officials said drivers should be extra careful and allow for extra time in and around Darlington.

  • Darlington Apple Festival is happening from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4. Expect traffic along Route 161. (Related: Where to Park at Darlington Apple Festival.)
  • Iron & Steel Marine Memorial Run will increase traffic on Interstate 95 between Cecil and Harford counties between approximately 11:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4. The FDNY Marine Corps Association is moving World Trade Center steel from New York to Quantico on I-95, accompanied by 600 to 1,000 motorcycles. The convoy is stopping at Maryland House near Aberdeen at approximately 12:20 p.m. Traffic should be in the left lane with the exception of at exits.
  • Cabin Fever, an outdoor adventure fest, will be happening at Camp Ramblewood starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, and Sunday, Oct. 5. The daylong festival carries on into the night, with concerts headlined by Dustin Lynch on Saturday and Uncle Kracker on Sunday. Roads may be congested around MD Route 161, Shuresville Road and Silver Road.
