Wind Warning in Effect on Hatem Bridge
Drivers of certain vehicles should be cautious, Maryland Transportation Authority advised.

The Maryland Transportation Authority issued a wind warning for the Hatem Bridge, which connects Havre de Grace to Perryville via US 40, Thursday afternoon.
The authority announced the wind warning was in effect after 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12. After 8 p.m., the warning was still in place.

Those driving motorcycles, box trailers, house trailers, vehicles subject to high winds or vehicles with roof racks that have cargo in them should be cautious while traveling across the bridge.

A wind warning means gusts are 30 to 39 mph.
The Nice and Bay bridges are also under wind warnings, according to the transportation authority.

A gale warning is in effect for the Chesapeake Bay Thursday, the National Weather Service reported. Subzero wind chills are expected in the area.
For northwestern Harford County, the weather service issued a wind chill advisory due to the potential for high winds and low temperatures that could result in hypothermia or frostbite.
