Winners of HdG Window Decorating Contest Announced for 2016

These merchants on North Washington and Franklin streets put together award-winning storefronts for the holidays.

HAVRE DE GRACE – Merchants who dress up their storefronts for the holidays are part of what welcomes shoppers to Havre de Grace as they browse and dine downtown. Their efforts do not go unnoticed, thanks to the Havre de Grace Window Decorating Contest.

The Havre de Grace Office of Economic Development and Tourism partnered with the Havre de Grace Chamber of Commerce to organize the 2016 contest.

  • First Place — Amanda’s Florist at 203 N. Washington Street
  • Second Place – Blue Heron Gift Shop at 456 Franklin Street
  • Third Place – Java by the Bay at 118 N. Washington Street
  • Most Unique – Vintage Café at 114 N. Washington Street
  • Best Traditional – Joseph’s Department Store at 122 N. Washington Street

Ribbons were given to the winners before Friday's parade and tree lighting by Mayor William T. “Bill” Martin, Tourism Manager Lauri Orzewicz, Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cathy Hutchins Vincenti and Havre de Grace Alliance Executive Director Pam Spelker.

Harford County Chamber of Commerce President Angela Rose, Harford Development Council Executive Director Bridgette Johnson and Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mike Bennett were the judges for this year's competition.
