Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for Havre de Grace

Roads may be slippery, National Weather Service advises.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Harford, Carroll and northern Baltimore counties Tuesday morning due to freezing rain. The advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. Tuesday.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of winter weather such as sleet or freezing rain may make travel conditions hazardous. Drivers should anticipate slippery roads and limited visibilities, according to the weather service.

A wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain is expected to produce a layer of ice up to 0.1-inch and sleet up to 0.2-inch, the weather service advised.

Sleet and rain should transition to all rain by Tuesday afternoon, according to the advisory, which said temperatures would be in the low 30s.
