Woodstock, Art Show, Opera House Anniversary: HdG This Weekend

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — This weekend in Havre de Grace is a big one. Major happenings are the Havre de Grace Art Show at Tydings Park and the two-year anniversary of the opera house on Union Avenue reopening following extensive renovations.

The Havre de Grace Art Show is a juried show where artists will display and sell their works. It's a volunteer-run event put together by Soroptimist International of Havre de Grace to raise money for local scholarships and community service projects. That's Saturday, Aug. 17, and Sunday, Aug. 18.

The Havre de Grace Arts Collective is sponsoring the anniversary celebration at the opera house, which will feature a free film screening and then a $5 live music performance on Sunday, Aug. 18.

The Havre de Grace Art Show is still going strong in its 56th consecutive year on August 17 and 18.

This two-day juried art show highlights quality work by artists, makers and craftspeople exhibiting and selling original work.

Woodstock

Saturday, August 17 at 5:15 pm

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock with the Havre de Grace Arts Collective. The expanded version of the film with hours more of the music will be shown in two parts: 4 pm to 6 pm followed by a two-hour dinner intermission. Film resumes at 8 pm. Only one ticket required. Tickets at OHHdg.org, at the HdG Visitor Center, and at Artists Emporium on Washington St.

The HdG Opera House Celebrates Its Second Anniversary

The Havre de Grace Arts Collective will celebrate the second anniversary of the Cultural Center at the Opera House (Opera House) on Sunday, August 18, 2019 with a day of events. Over 35,000 people have visited the Opera House since it opened in August 2017 enjoying a wide variety of performances and entertainment.

2nd Anniversary Celebration – Somethin’ Borrowed

Sun., August 18 at 4 pm TICKETS ARE ONLY $5! A talented quintet playing a variety of music from jazz standards to well-known pop favorites. Their jazz-style interpretations of classics ranging from Billy Strayhorn to Maroon 5, are sure to entertain all ages. The group has been playing professionally for many years in the Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C. areas.
