Angel Acres Hosts Fundraiser at Padonia Station

The horse rescue, which assists the Baltimore County animal shelter, also plans to hold a silent auction.

Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue is holding a fundraiser at Padonia Station bar and restaurant to benefit the volunteer operation on Tuesday. 

Customers who bring along a printout of the flyer attached to the article will have 15 percent of their meal bill donated to Angel Acres, according to Fran Burns, a spokeswoman for the horse rescue.

The event will also feature a silent auction of items such as tickets to a Baltimore Ravens football game, a one-night stay at Celie's Waterfront Inn in Fells Point and five passes from Monkton Bike to tube down the Gunpowder River.

Angel Acres also plans to display a Toyota Tundra it won through "Toyota's 100 Cars for Good" Facebook competition. The organization hopes to use the vehicle to pull horse trailers and carry supplies.

"This contest really galvanized our online community," said Jo Deibel, founder and director of Angel Acres. "Folks that didn’t even know each other before the contest started working together to spread the word and rally folks to vote on our behalf."
