KarmaFest unplugged - The Experience

KarmaFest:  Enhance Your Body; Expand Your Mind; Awaken
Your Spirit!!!

KarmaFest®,Maryland’s Ultimate Holistic/Psychic/Yoga Festival is coming back to Harford County (this time at The Steppingstone Museum at Susquehanna State Park in Havre de Grace, MD) on Saturday, October 12th and Sunday October 13th.  This festival is in its eighth year and is the brainchild of Patricia Hawse, Bel Air native, who designed the festival to promote the benefits of yoga, meditation, holistic medicine, and the power of the psyche.  She promises that the festival will help enhance your body, expand your mind, and awaken your spirit.

It all started when Ms. Hawse went to Louisiana for Katrina Relief with the Red Cross.  “There, under all the stress of working in such negative conditions, I found myself anxious and depressed,”Patti explains, “I cried myself to sleep the first two nights I was there.  However, on the third night, I joined in a yoga and meditation class held in the Red Cross resident’s shelter, designed to help relieve the relief workers.  After the yoga, I found my body relaxed.  And when I awoke from the meditation, my mind was at peace.  On my departure from Louisiana, I vowed I would spread the word about these simple, yet profound, life-changing tools that are available for all to enjoy.”

The admission price for KarmaFest® is only $15 which gives attendees a full day of yoga, meditation, lectures and workshops, live music, as well as a variety of vendors offering holistic products and modalities, new age products, and more.  Participants can also enjoy reflexology, reiki and massage or get a psychic reading at an additional cost.  There will also be good food available (including vegan and vegetarian) as well as normal festival fare.

KarmaFest® is also a time to celebrate with like-minded individuals, states Ms. Hawse, so she welcomes you to come and enjoy great live music or participate in drum circles (bring your drums and hoops).  This festival’s theme is “KarmaFest unplugged – The Experience,” and is specifically designed for people to unplug from the stress of everyday life, to take some time out in nature and to breathe and learn and grow.

She asks that you leave your cell phones and technology at home, so a

wonderful experience can be had by all as we once again “connect” to what is
really important.

Yoga classes, Tai Chi and Qigong will be conducted by local instructors in the yoga area throughout each day (bring your mats and water bottles).  The festival also features lectures and workshops in several locations on holistic health and psychic phenomena, such as “Experience The Power of Gemstones,” “Awaken To Your Soul’s Purpose,” and “Karmic Astrology.” Other workshops include “Introduction To Reiki,” “Past Life Regression,” and “Expressing Your Genuine Self.”  Reflexologists, Massage Therapists, and Reiki Practitioners will also be providing their pampering services, while live music fills the air.  The combination leaves
participants relaxed, rejuvenated, enlightened!

“KarmaFest®just keeps getting better and better,” states Sharon, a KarmaFest® Volunteer. This year’s festival offers services that are sure to please, such as group chanting, a Singing Bowl Circle, Magic Shows featuring Baltimore Magician, David London, and a huge Reiki Share.  Finally, there will be much belly dancing and hooping during the live performances and live painting on stage for a sense-intensive experience.

Patricia Hawse invites you to come out to KarmaFest® and enjoy an invigorating day in nature.  Bring the whole family - lawnchairs and blankets – and make a day of it.  The hours are 10am – 7pm on Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday.  KarmaFest is known to be a family friendly event as ages 2 to 92 have been seen to dance and laugh and have fun together. Enjoy the open and loving atmosphere of this beautiful festival at this amazing venue.

If you’ve never been to a KarmaFest® come and check it out.  If you’ve been before, welcome back and welcome home.
