UPDATE: Man Uses BB Gun in Assault, Attempted Robbery

Goodwill store employee injured in altercation.

(UPDATE 2:50 p.m. Monday)— The weapon used by a man sought for assaulting a Goodwill employee was a BB gun, according to spokeswoman Cathy Batton. 

The Towson Goodwill location had been robbed of $2,000 by an armed gunman earlier in the day, reports WBAL-TV.

There is no link between the two incidents aside from the location, Batton said.

(UPDATE 9:52 p.m. Friday)— A man assaulted an employee at the Padonia Road on Friday evening, according to Baltimore County police.

The assailant entered Goodwill and lingered before approaching an employee at the rear of the store, said Detective Cathy Batton, a police spokeswoman. He then displayed a weapon and a struggle ensued. The employee suffered minor injuries as a result of the altercation.

The suspect fled the scene after the assault, according to police. He is described as a 5 foot 8 inch man who weighs about 160 pounds. 

Batton said officers responded to Goodwill, located in the 200 block of West Padonia Road, at around 6:30 p.m. K9 and air units were also dispatched for a canvas of the area but the search was unsuccessful.

Police are investigating the incident as an attempted robbery.
