Miniatures Through Time - A Miniatures Exhibit

Maryland Miniatures Unlimited and the Historical Society of Baltimore County invite you to join us for a miniatures exhibition and a day of fun and history. It will take place at Baltimore County Almshouse. The show, "Miniatures Through Time", will feature miniatures , historical exhibits ,  and children's activities.  Miniature hobbies represented will be model ship making, military miniatures,  model railroading , and dollhouse miniatures . Suggested donation is $8.00 for adults  young adults and children over six. Children under six are free.

door proceeds will benefit the Historical Society of Baltimore County.

There is a little something the everyone  in this exhibit. An area featuring ship models will display tall ships in the making. Military miniatures section will display historical battle scenes.   A model train section will show types and scales of train modeling and a running train. Many dollhouse miniatures will be featured including a large model of the engineers house at Montebello Filtration Plant complete with electricity and anewly completed 1920’s kitchen addition.  A block of  Baltimore row houses and  the corner store with detailed brick andmarble steps show life  and events in Baltimore. Many more  intricate dollhouses,room boxes and  miniatures will be shown in different scales. The Historical Society will feature some of their own collection of miniatures,house replicas, trains and  a retrospective about miniature furniture making.   The kids can enjoy free make and take project on Saturday. On  Sunday there will be a coloring book activity of historic scenes and  a session on making civil war clay figures and backdrops.  A sales table in another area gives the  opportunity to  purchase some miniature items. Each visitor receives a show booklet explaining the exhibits.   Additionally, for those interested in local history,  the visitor can learn about the history of the Almshouse in a newly opened exhibit room on the second floor.
