Neglected Parkton Horses Now in Good Heath
In June, the Baltimore County Animal Control seized the 10 horses, which were in poor condition.
Ten horses, which were seized for neglect, are now in good health, according to Laura Jones, a spokeswoman for HorseNet Horse Rescue in Mt. Airy.
The horses were removed from a Parkton farm in late June by , Jones said. They were found to be in rough condition with poor coats, overgrown hooves, which occurs when horses are confined in a stall for too long, and were severely underweight.
Six of the horses are now housed at farms owned by HorseNet and the other four are located at the Days End Farm Horse Rescue in Lisbon.

HorseNet used Facebook and Paypal to invite its supporters to name the horses that are in its care. Participants were given the opportunity to pay $100 to name a horse or, for $10, submit a nomination for a vote. After all the submissions were collected, HorseNet had people vote on names for $1.
