North County Crime: Resident Catches Burglar Breaking into House

Malcolm Circle, 10300 block, 9:16 p.m., Nov. 15. A resident returned home to find a man attempting to open the front door of his house. The suspect, described as a 5-foot-11 inch man weighing 195 pounds, fled in an unknown direction.

Old Farm Road, 4300 block, between Oct. 13 and 3:40 p.m., Nov. 14. An unknown amount of collectible Texaco toys were stolen from a vacant residence.

Vernon Road, 19400 block, between 10 p.m., Nov. 15 and 9 a.m., Nov. 16. Two bookshelf speakers and two shelves were stolen from a residence. A front kitchen window was also damaged.
