Phoenix Road Bridge Now Open to Two-Way Traffic

The which closed for repairs on Nov. 19, 2010, is now open to two-way traffic.

However, both lanes may close again if county traffic engineers determine that additional repairs are needed, according to .

"It could be [open for] a couple months," Huff said. "It could be another year. We're still determining what needs to be done to the bridge; whether it needs to be re-decked or rebuilt completely."

Huff turned on the switch to operate the traffic lights at the bridge, located in Northern Baltimore County, on Wednesday morning. He said it was important to allow two-way traffic for as long as possible to alleviate the problems.

"Hopefully this will help the community," he said.
