Oregon Ridge Park offers a lovely array of trails to meander—from accessible wide flat paths anyone can transverse to more rugged, steep and challenging trails that will keep you on your toes.
In addition to the park's quarry lake, there are also several gardens and restored historical buildings to explore. Maps are available at the Oregon Ridge Nature Center.
The center now features a new addition: an opossom named Jasmine.

Additional highlights to the interactive and educational exhibits are the Flying Squirrel called Squeaks, a King Snake by the name of Michael Jackson and a pair of Diamondback Terrapins named Tippy and Tara.

Another spot I recommend exploring is the Northern Central Railroad (NCR) Trail, which passes through our area at Gunpowder Falls State Park. The discontinued railroad track is converted into easily accessible, flat and scenic trails perfectly suited for walking, biking or running.
Finally, the lovely canopies of colorful leaves reflect stunningly in the still waters of Loch Raven Reservoir, just east of Cockeysville. A number of trails wind through the forested hills surrounding the water offering enchanting views. But you might want to look out for any park rangers, as many mountain bikers have recently learned.
