4 DC Men Charged With 10 Robberies Across Maryland

Four DC men have been charged with ten robberies throughout Prince George's County, Anne Arundel County and Montgomery County.

HYATTSVILLE, MD — Four DC men have been charged for a string of ten robberies in Prince George's County, Anne Arundel County and Montgomery County, police announced Tuesday. Over the span of four weeks, detectives believe these same suspects targeted ten separate 7-Elevens across the three counties.

Prince George's County patrol officers spotted and arrested the men just minutes after they committed their final robbery in the 6200 block of Suitland Rd. in Morningside June 16. Officers recovered two handguns during the arrest, police said.

The men allegedly robbed 7-Elevens in Gaithersburg, Rockville, Hyattsville, Landover, Suitland, Kettering, Gambrillis, Millersville and Glen Burnie, police said.

The four suspects are: 26-year-old Tyrone Murphy of Southwest DC; 31-year-old Leighton Williams of Southwest DC; 19-year-old Kione Banks of Southwest DC and his 27-year-old brother, Khiry Banks, of Southeast DC.

Kione Banks is only charged with the robbery on Suitland Road, police said.

Murphy, Williams and Khiry Banks remain in custody of the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections. Kione Banks has posted bond and is no longer in custody, police said.
