Learn about how you can be a child advocate!
Are you looking to make a difference in the life of abused or abandoned children in your community? Are you ready to become an advocate for a child in need? There are over 600 youth in foster care in Prince George’s County and Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is looking for compassionate and motivated individuals ready to fulfill their potential to serve the community by being trained on becoming an advocate for these youth. CASA is hosting pre-service training for new volunteers beginning January 22 at 6 pm at the Hyattsville Administrative Building located at 4310 Gallatin St. Hyattsville, MD 20781. . In about 10 hours a month, CASA volunteers create relationships with youth in foster care to ensure that the court and child welfare systems remain focused on their specific needs, so that these needs, including the need for a safe and permanent home, are addressed expeditiously. Will you speak for abused and neglected children in your community? Apply now to attend training. For more information, please visit our website at www.pgcasa.org or call 301-209-0491.
