Cinco de Mayo @ Rancho Grande

Great new find for myself. Happy hour prices are ideal and weekend hours are inviting. Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I went on quite the adventure this evening looking for a place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo that would include amazing Latin American cuisine with some alcoholic beverages to cheer on the historical moment of victory for Mexico. Of course I did make it a bit more challenging for myself by putting in a prerequisite of not having to wait in an extremely long line in order to be seated.

My husband, sister in law, and myself first tried to go to Greenbelt’s Greenway Center for Chevy’s which was having a huge party inside and out. It looked like a great time, including a DJ, games, and a crowd, but my prerequisite of sitting fast to get my Cinco de Mayo started had to be accomplished. We finally decided to do what every American tends to do now if they own a smartphone, Google a locale.

We finally found Rancho Grande off of Baltimore Avenue in Riverdale Park’s historic district and must say we have found a new happy hour location as well as a great place for Cinco de Mayo dinner and drinks. The food was great with homemade tortillas, great mild salsa, and a must have Margarita on a great spring night like tonight. The other plus for this location that I believe I will be taking advantage of is the outside seating once the weather opens up a bit more. While the view isn’t amazing the fresh air can always set a good mood.

So after a bit of an adventure we not only found our Cinco de Mayo location, but a place that we will probably become regulars at from now on.
