Prince George's Publick Playhouse

The Taratibu Youth Association (TYA) is a sensational ensemble of young artists representing the performing arts of the African diaspora. With eclectic and diverse musical influences, they perform percussive dance styles, from stepping to traditional South African Gumboot, modern dance to hip-hop. TYA sings in Zulu and Sotho from South Africa, Kiswahili from Tanzania, Creole from Haiti, and Portuguese from Brazil. Their performances are educational and inspirational, telling stories of empowerment and cultural history. This performance is part of our Education on Stage Series and is recommended for ages 5-16. Please note, everyone must have a ticket to enter, regardless of age. Groups of 20+ can call our Box Office at 301-277-1710 for Group Sales.

Note: there are TWO showtimes; 10:30 AM and Noon.

The Takoma&nbsp;Park Independence Day Committee will hold a parade and evening street party on July 4, 2026, that will strictly stay in Takoma Park.Residents can begin gathering for the free event at 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Grant and Ethan Allen avenues, but the parade won't officially start until 10 a.m. Festivities will run until 12 p.m.But, the parade isn't the only event being held. Organizers will also be hosting an evening street party on Maple Avenue, between Philadelphia and Ritchie avenues. The party runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.Anticipate live music, food vendors and a mix of family-friendly activities. The Chesapeake Baysox invites the community to join them for a night of live music, family activities, and a breathtaking fireworks display.&nbsp;Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and young fans are invited onto the field for&nbsp;nearly two&nbsp;hours of play time, including&nbsp;Kids&nbsp;Run the&nbsp;Bases, catch in the outfield, and an inflatable obstacle course. A face painter and balloon artist&nbsp;also&nbsp;will be on hand to add to the festivities. The&nbsp;evening's&nbsp;concert gets underway at approximately 6:30 p.m., featuring live performances by Blues in a Blender and Honey Sol, with the&nbsp;Star-Spangled&nbsp;Banner performed by Bullpen Brass.&nbsp;All&nbsp;of&nbsp;your favorite ballpark concessions will be available throughout the evening. Then, as night falls, the sky above Prince George's Stadium will come alive with a spectacular fireworks display.

Fireman's Field Complex, 250 S. Nursery Ave., Purcellville, VA, 20132

The annual Purcellville Wine and Food Festival returns on Saturday, July 18, in Dillon’s Woods at the historic Fireman’s Field Complex (250 S. Nursery Avenue, Purcellville). The festival will take place from 2 to 8 p.m., inviting guests to gather with family and friends for an afternoon and evening of local wine, beer, food, live music, art, and more.
This year’s event will showcase 40 vendors, including wineries, breweries, food and snack vendors, and local exhibitors. Enjoy live music performances by the Rick Reaves Band, The Darby Brothers, and the Franklin Park Big Band. The “Arts in the Garden” section, hosted by the Purcellville Arts Council, will highlight local artists who will create works of art live on-site. Additional activities include face painting and a photo stand-in booth. 
Early bird ticket pricing is available through 5 p.m. on July 17: 
• Early bird admission (ages 17 and over): $5 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink tickets (6 oz wine or 12 oz beer): $8.50 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink ticket package: 4 tickets for $32 (+ tax) 
• Early bird bottle of wine purchase: $35 (+ tax), available from participating wineries (bottles must be consumed on-site)
A souvenir glass will be provided with the purchase of the first drink ticket. Save time and money by purchasing your tickets in advance. 
The popular VIP experience returns for $275 (+ tax) and includes admission for six, a reserved table for six, three bottles of local wine, six souvenir glasses, six drink tickets, early entry to the festival, special commemorative gifts, and a selection of sweets and savories for the table.
