County Shelter Lowers Cat Adoption Fees This Weekend

The adoption fees for kittens and cats has been lowered by the Prince George’s County Animal Management Division during a Cat Meow Luau kitten and cat adoption event.

The adoption special runs from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Animal Services Facility in Upper Marlboro.

“During the Cat Meow Luau, all adoption fees for our feline friends are $5,” says Chief Rodney Taylor, Associate Director of the animal shelter. “This fee covers all new adoption services including shots, spay/neuter and microchip operations.”

The event will also include a special “How Low Can You Go?” limbo contest. “Adopters who participate in the contest may have their adoption fees waived and go home with a new kitten or cat for free,” Taylor said.
