Bring Voices to Children in Foster Care!

Help tackle critical community needs – become a Volunteer Maryland Coordinator with Volunteer Maryland and CASA/Prince George’s County! Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Prince George’s County, Inc. is a volunteer-based organization that partners with the juvenile court to improve the lives of children living in foster care who have suffered from abuse and neglect. The Volunteer Maryland Coordinator (VMC) will work to develop new sources of volunteer recruitment, especially for the Transitioning Youth Program. The VMC will seek to recruit 65 to 80 volunteers to keep pace with the increased number of youth being served. The VMC will also help with logistics for CASA volunteer trainings and work with staff to build a diverse volunteer pool.

This is an 11 month, full-time (40 hours/week) position as a member of the Volunteer Maryland (VM) AmeriCorps program serving at Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Prince George’s County. The VMC service year will begin on September 23, 2015, and includes extensive training, a modest living allowance, and a post-service education award.
