Hyattsville Students Donate Groceries to Takoma Park Food Pantry

Fourth-grade students joined Peapod for the delivery service's Kids Give Back program.

HYATTSVILLE, MD--Fourth-grade students from Cezar Chavez Dual Language Spanish Immersion School in Hyattsville met a Peapod delivery truck in their school parking lot Feb. 11 to help unload a grocery delivery as part of Peapod’s Kids Give Back Program, according to a news release.

Peapod challenged the students to use $250 to create a delivery order of the most nutritious foods possible. The students then used nutrition and budgeting lessons to put together a complete Peapod.com order that they helped deliver to Takoma Park Food Pantry.

Peapod’s Kids Give Back Program is designed to teach students about nutrition, shopping on a budget, and how to use this knowledge to give back to local food banks.
