After Last Week's Failed Meeting, Council Faces Similar Agenda

This week's mayor and council meeting agenda looks nearly identical to last week's .
As a result, a contentious item from last week's consent agenda will be reintroduced as an action item in tonight's meeting, allowing members to vote for or against the motion. This motion for a zoning variance sparked debate last week when (Ward 3) made two failed attempts to remove the item from the consent agenda.
In turn, the vote to approve the meeting agenda also failed, resulting in no business being conducted at last week’s meeting.

Also on the agenda is a contract renewal for City Treasurer Elaine Stookey and a salary increase for , and a vote to schedule more council meetings and worksessions that will focus on the FY2013 budget.

In addition to the above referenced zoning variance, the council is set to vote on a motion to allow Pepco to relocate a power line on 38th Avenue, a motion to approve a contract with email hosting vendor HyperOffice, and third motion to adopt a procurement policy.
